Thanks to my professor’s encouragement, I’m attending the JTEL summer school held in Greece with mini who turned 6 month old today!

I’m slightly feeling hazy in the gap between still relatively new motherhood and this community of young international students😅 (and obvious lack of sleep!!)

But I’m glad we plunged into this opportunity as a family of three! It’s exquisite as a study environment!!

毎日満面の笑みを惜しみなく与えてくれる娘に「生まれてきてくれてありがとう❤️」と言わずにはいられない。

真理咲の「咲」は漢学者である私の父が「笑む」と同意として当ててくれた字なのだけれど、その名に劣らない人生を既に生きてくれている気がする。

Some people said it only gets interesting when babies are walking and talking.

She started smiling at me in the 2nd month without me trying to make her smile. Everyday she smiles at me even before I smile at her.

I thought parents give and babies only take, but she is giving me so much everyday🥰

1st non-remote work since I became a mum! It was hard to leave my super cute daughter behind, but nice warm welcome-back from one of my favourite clients and the great hospitality from the venue made the effort worthwhile❤️

出産直前のコロナ感染にも、高熱からの緊急帝王切開にも、そして更なる見えない細菌との戦いにも負けず、逞しく産まれて来てくれた彼女。今は全ての瞬間が、全ての表情が愛おしい。

これからどんなことがあっても一緒に乗り越えて行こうね💕(3週間経ってやっとセルフィ撮る元気が出ました。。。😅ベビちゃんの写真は既に1000枚以上撮ったと思うけど😂)

It was the due date yesterday. I’m eating spicy food everyday but there’s absolutely no sign of baby coming out…😓

My midwife gave me the same advice that Ross and Rachel got in Friends, apparently intimate activity helps…😂

予定日の検診で卵膜剥離を試みるも、子宮口がまだ奥すぎて届かないと言われ、その後胎児の心拍が上がりすぎたからと出産室で3時間ほどモニタリングされて、薬を飲まされ帝王切開の説明までされたのに、最終的に落ち着いたからと普通に家に帰された。。。😓

出産誘発まで最大12日待ちだそうです😅もう着られる服もほとんどないサイズなのに〜😭

日本ではオロナミンCや焼肉を食べると陣痛が来ると言われているようですが、イギリスでは

だそうです。

BMI17で妊娠スタートし、低体重を心配されていたはずが、イギリス人平均以上にすくすく育ちすぎている胎児に、早く出さないと！と予定日前だけど焦って来た私です•••😓

インドカレーと韓国料理も試すことにします😂スクワットもやってます💪

3人子供のいるPhDの指導教官からは、2週間遅れだよと脅され、予定日の週にプレゼンね！と言い渡された😂

I’m now 34 weeks pregnant and officially a PhD student!!

I’ve been subjected to reasonable amount of criticism that I won’t make a good parent about this move.

If you have an employer legally obliged to support you, husband to provide you, or the government subsidy you have access to, pls do shut up! I stand by my decision as the best I can do as a single working mum to be in the post covid world.

After the pandemic destroyed my business, I really thought about who I am and what I want to get from life.

I’m just opening up the new chapter of my life in the field of EdTech with fully funded PhD studentship 💻🎓

My research is about how Mixed Reality technology and the use of extra dimension can make the scientific knowledge more comprehensible and efficiently deliverable at cognitive levels.

イギリスでは妊婦の体重管理が一切ないのですが、本能に任せて甘いものを食べ続けていたら、あっという間に胎児のサイズが2kgを越えていて、ちょっと焦っています😅

イギリス標準ではど真ん中平均のサイズだそうですが、果たして私の骨盤サイズでイギリス平均の子供を生み出せるのか。。。？！

うちの彼は背が高くしかも4kg越えで産まれていて、私も平均以上のサイズで生まれているので、3kg台後半の出生体重はもう覚悟しないといけないのかもしれない😓

日本では低体重が問題で、ガイドラインも更新されたばかりのようだけど、巨大なイギリスの妊婦と比べて平均だから大丈夫よ、と言われてもあまり説得力ないです😂
